So this is My Home Page (and now home to the “Boot My Space Challenge) .......
It's now the place where you make history on the Internet!
My name is Nick and I bought www.my-home-page.net over 7 years ago for no other reason than it seemed like a good idea at the time. Okay, www.my-home-page.com was already sold so this was the next best thing. Although I have had a variety of ideas over the years as to what I could use this domain for, nothing has come along and hit me over the head in such a way as to encourage me to sit down and design a complete site.
September 15th, 2006 ….so we’ve had an idea!
The “Boot My Space.com” Challenge ( that means you! )
With a name like www.my-home-page.net, this page should really be used for a community purpose. So when I did a recent search on Google for “my home page” what came up in number one position……. My Space.com.
So then I had an idea!
Maybe if we all got together we could give My Space.com the boot out of that Number one position on Google.
Here’s how it works…..
My Space has a Google Page Rank of 8. That’s a pretty high score, but it’s only because so many people have linked to it.
But we can all do better than that!
All it requires is for everyone that visits this page to either "bookmark it" and save it to your favourites, or alternatively if you have a website, put the following link on your website that links to this site:

If enough of you all do this, then you could be part of making big news on the Net!

The first person to contact me after we have achieved that Number One position, will have the right to suggest what we should eventually use this website for.
So why not get linking……and lets see if we can make some internet history. At the same time why not get your friends involved, and see what we can all do to beat the mighty Google.
A Bit About Me
As I said before, my name is Nick and I now live in Auckland, New Zealand.
I make a living on the Internet, and between that and looking after my two wonderful kids (Toby 9 and Lucy 3) my life is wonderfully filled up. I came back to New Zealand 4 years ago after travelling the world for about 23 years. Had a lot of great times, seen a lot of wonderful places and met some fantastic people in this big world of ours.
One of the best things about coming back to New Zealand after being away for so long, was coming back to a place that is so far away from the fear of terrorism. Since I came back we have seen increasing numbers of people from all over the world, coming to live here for exactly the same reason – particularly out of the United States.
So if you've ever thought about emigrating and moving to live in New Zealand, or even Australia, why not drop me an email and say hello. I've added in Australia too because I lived there for 6 years and that is an incredible place too. |
